Granny Air Bag

My sister sent me this funny video.  I laughed so hard, I had tears in my eyes.

Rippley and Emma

My friend, Bridgett, over at Rambling Designs has just designed another pattern for me to test knit.  It is a wrap called Rippley.  She has designed some beautiful shawls and stoles which I have had the privilege to test knit for her.  I sure wish I could meet her in person, since we have so much in common.

My granddaughter, Emma, who is 10, lives in Indiana and spends a week with us each summer.  This year we took her to Wisconsin Dells and had a blast.  The trip home, however, was another story.  We spent the last 70 miles driving and sitting along side the road in a terrible thunderstorm.  We actually arrived back to our hometown just as tornadic winds hit.

Anyway, the day before the trip we stopped over at my dad's farm.  My middle brother came down to give Emma her first horseback riding lesson.  She is a natural and rode for quite a while without any help.  I keep kidding my brother by telling him he looks like ZZ Top.  ;~}

Abstract Rhombus & Nightingale

Here are pictures of two socks I am knitting for the July Sock Knitters Anonymous group.  The first is Abstract Rhombus.

The second is Nightingale.  Excuse the picture.  I smashed everything in my scanner.  I have already begun this sock but don't have a current picture.

Both socks have to be finished by the end of August.  It will be close, since I am working on several other things at the moment, including test knitting the Spoon Chrysanthemum shawl for MMario

In the meantime, I am off to bake some Braided Lemon Bread, Strawberry Shortcake Cookies and Cherry Clafouti.  Yummm!

Fixed!

Apparently, the trouble I was having with Blogger has fixed itself.  What do you think of my spruced up blog page?  I really like it!

What the . . . .???

I tried to spruce up my blog today by changing the wallpaper, etc. Blogger is not cooperating. It doesn't show any of the changes I made. This is what it decided to give me. Help!! I am hoping it will straighten itself out, or let me correct it in a day or two.

Darn It!

Look at this gorgeous darning egg I just ordered.

I have also ordered 2 more to be custom made for me. I don't know how to link to anything in my blogs, so I will just post the information to the artist's website and Etsy shop.

His website is: www.west.net/~harley/wood/darnaids.htm

and his Etsy shop is: www.etsy.com/shop/CustomWoodDesigns

Hmmmm, maybe I have linked it accidently. ;~}

I'm Officially a Designer

Yep! Thanks to the challenge for the June Sockknitter's Anonymous Group, I have designed my first sock. It is a toe-up sock with a sideways cable band and picot edging. When I get the pattern written up, I will include instructions for knitting the pattern cuff down, along with an alternate method of making the cable band. It's not an elaborate sock, but I am very proud of it - - like giving birth for the first time. :~} Hey Bridgett, does this mean I can join the elite designers' group? LOL

I'm Back . . .

I said that I don't post very often, but 2 1/2 years? Anyway, I will try to check in a little more often.

I finally made it to a Fiber Arts Meeting at our local library. Only a handful of people there during this warm weather but still a good time. The Fiber Arts group just finished decorating a chair (one of 12 rocking chairs decorated by various groups) that will be on a float for the 4th of July parade and then placed for a silent auction. Front and back pictures above. The seat cushion looks like grass on top and the bottom looks like dirt. So cute! There are even a couple bumble bees and butterflies in some of the flowers.
