Tea For Ten!

I have a big thirst for knitting! ;0} Take a look at the size of this tea cup - 7 1/2 inches high and 9 inches across (not counting the handle). I saw this beauty in a Kitchen Collections outlet store when I was visiting my aunt and uncle in Denver last month. The tea cup is not an item sold in the store. It is actual a display that holds a bunch of tea infusers with miniature copies of this tea cup on the end. I asked the store manager if there was any way that I could buy this tea cup and was told that I could purchase it once the tea infusers were all sold. I quickly gave her my aunt's phone number, since she graciously consented to mail the tea cup to me. It just arrived today. I was going to display the cup with my collection of quirky tea pots, but like it much better sitting beside me while I knit. I just love it!!

Kauni Jeanie Shawl Finished!

As you can see, I am not much of a talker. It has been months since my last post.

The Kauni Jeanie Shawl is finally finished. This is only the second knitting project I have ever finished. I have literally 100 sock and shawl projects started on needles, but I can't quit starting other patterns I see. I was knitting this shawl for myself, but my daughter-in-law saw me working on it this summer and said she would like to have it. I didn't say anything but gave it to her Monday for her birthday. I don't know if I am more proud of how it looks, the fact I made it through a confusing chart pattern or that I actually finished something! It has been almost 2 years since I started to teach myself to knit.

Kauni Jeanie Shawl pattern free with purchase of yarn from Astrid's Dutch Obsession. http://astridsdutchobsessions.com/scripts/default.asp Yarn is Kauni EQ Rainbow, which is all one colorway.

Hopefully, I can begin to finish some of the other projects on the needles. It will have to wait till after Christmas, though. I have some quilts I am suppose to make for gifts (not making much progress on them). Oh, and I have to finish the turtleneck poncho I am knitting for my grandaughter's birthday tomorrow. I am using the same yarn I used on the Kauni shawl. I will post a picture later. Then there are all the other crafts I do . . . I feel like the rabbit in "Alice in Wonderland", but instead I am in the Tortoise Club. (sigh)

Happy Holidays to you all!!
